YOUTH
ADVOCACY
PROJECT

the Youth Advocacy Project helps middle and high school students develop advocacy skills and learn about issues related to substance use prevention, suicide prevention, and mental health promotion.

Join V4P for a day of games, prizes, a live DJ, and more. This is the 2nd annual Youth Summit to celebrate the Youth Advocacy Project. The Youth Advocacy Project aims to teach youth about advocacy, substance abuse prevention, suicide prevention, and mental health promotion. The Youth Advocacy Project will allow students the chance to earn the Advocacy Ambassador Certificate which can be used on college applications or resumes. The Advocacy Ambassador Certification is intended for those interested in Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, and Mental Health Advocacy. This certification will prepare and empower youth to engage in advocacy at the local, state, and national levels.

The Certification will teach you how to engage your local leaders and peers so your voice can be heard! You will learn from leaders in substance use prevention, suicide prevention, and mental health promotion. You will also meet other youth from across the state and join a network of youth just like you. Plus, gain skills like public speaking, effective writing, networking, and professional communication.

RECAP VIDEO

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Georgia, and Governor Kemp’s Public Health State of Emergency guidance, Voices for Prevention (‘V4P’) has decided to go virtual for the 2021 Substance Abuse Prevention Advocacy Day on March 9, 2021. Protecting the health, safety, and well-being of the community we serve is V4P’s top priority. The 2021 Substance Abuse Prevention Advocacy (SAPAD) goal is to connect community members with their state and local policymakers as well as inform and promote the best practices in the delivery of substance abuse prevention services and advocacy.
